Today's spotlight is all about one of our expert health and wellness coaches, Drew Martino. Drew is passionate about educating women on easy wellness shifts and getting in tune with their bodies. She lives and breathes wellness and practices a healthy lifestyle each and every day. Drew radiates confidence and she let us in on a few of her confidence building secrets. Here’s what she had to say:

What does confidence mean to you?

Confidence to me means living in the integrity of your own beliefs and values. It means turning into your own internal compass when making decisions and having a strong foundation no matter what life throws at you.

What do you do each day to improve your confidence?

It starts as soon as I wake up... I have daily rituals that I trust to always give me that internal confidence/strength. One of them being my morning habits. I tend to my body and mental health first thing every morning.

What is something you would tell your younger self to help her confidence?

Confidence comes after action. Do the thing first and your confidence will follow (I wish I told myself this especially when it came to my college class on public speaking)!

How has your confidence grown over time?

It's like a 180. The older I get the more confident I become. I think it happens with age, personal development, and awareness.

What tips/advice would you give to others to improve their confidence?

Start small. Give yourself little tasks or things you can do each week that are a tiny step outside your comfort zone and build your confidence up from there. It won't happen overnight, but through consistent daily habits.

What is your favorite confidence-boosting activity?

It sounds odd and feels weird at first, but dancing in front of the mirror to my favorite songs instantly boosts my confidence.

What makes for confident eating habits?

Putting your body's needs first and focusing on nourishing yourself instead of what the latest diet trends are. When my clients learn to let go of all the external noise and turn inward that's when they start to feel confident.

What are your best/favorite wellness tips?

Hmmm... my best wellness tip is to remember that your wellness is not an industry. Do not buy into the latest fads and quick result trends. Wellness is a lifestyle and it is something you need to dedicate your life to. There is no one size fits all approach so just find what works for you and do that.
